My Comfort Zone

From http://barbarawallace.com

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn’t fail.
The same four walls and busywork where really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t doing much.
I said I didn’t care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside my zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn’t let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I’d never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone good-bye and closed and locked the door.

If you’re in comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile;
Success is there for you!

Very inspiring. Coming out of comfort zone is very hard.

    Wow such an encouraging poem!

  3. No real growth happens in comfort. To step outside what you know is to open yourself up to the possibilities of what you don’t know. Great post!

I like the saying be comfortable with doing something uncomfortable, meaning the unease of doing something different/new is actually “my normal”.

That’s terrific! Remaining in a comfort zone is very pleasant, but you don’t accomplish much that way.

  6. Very worthwhile remembering. It’s only our own fears we have to overtake. And some of those are scary! But I’ll keep this in mind. 🙂 x

  7. Loved the post! Feeling the same way lately.

  8. Wonderful post and so true. What doesn’t challenge you won’t change you!

Nice post. We all need to be reminded to step out so we can really see who we are and have the life we truly desire. Thank you for visiting my post and liking The Power of Change. Stepping out of the comfort zone, true change can begin. Blessings to you
