Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need…

Boat

From FineArtAmerica

“Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need – a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends, worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog, and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear…”

( from ‘Three Men in a Boat‘ by Jerome K. Jerome, 1889)

  1. I remember reading Three Men in a Boat when I lived in London in the early 1970s. There were power cuts and the tube train broke down just as I got to a really funny part where I couldn’t stop laughing, tears were running down my face, and all was quiet in the carriage as commuters sat there stolidly while I howled my head off!

I love the simple life. Brazil helps with that.
    🙂

  3. Moving always gives me an opportunity to weed out all the “unnecessaries” of life. This time around, I’m REALLY going to lighten my load. 🙂

  4. I love the things that you write and post here! Very touching to the soul!
