Filling Empty Minds

Teach your children
From Motivational and Inspirational Quotes

Each one of us starts empty,
Just waiting to be filled,
With love and words
And things we learn;
The empty space is killed.

Displaced with all the good things,
And sometimes with the bad,
We learn from
Those around us
And the special times we’ve had.

When we are still quite empty,
In our younger years,
It’s easy for us,
To fill up,
With love and hope and fears.

It means the young are easy led,
And learn things very fast,
But bad times leave,
A dirty mark,
Even when long passed.

When spending time with young friends,
We need to think about,
The lessons that
We’re teaching them:
They’re quicker in than out.

There’s positives within this,
Because those younger minds,
Will grow and flourish
Happily
When watered with good times.

  1. I have to say that I am a fan of Pooky’s poems which I read every day.
Maybe you would like this as an uplifting talk. It appears in today’s offering from TED talks.

  3. Thanks for lovely blogs, this is one of them. How true it is but I am very much concerned how to do best for all in this world of chaos at the moment. There is no one culture of one country to deal with but the whole world. But still full of people with the mind set of you and I not we are the one humanity of the world.

Have you heard of the ‘Memes and Viruses of the mind’? Memes are the building blocks of cultures, the building blocks of minds that shape the way people see the world around them. Meme is also the basic unit of cultural transmission that spread from person to person.

Unfortunately, all cultures are polluted with lots of bad memes and viruses of the mind. People often find it hard to get rid of them as often they are not aware of the ‘memes’ within their minds that shape the way they see things, that shape their way of thinking, their perception and attitude.

‘US vs. THEM’ is one of the most toxic viruses of the mind that shapes the worldview of a large number of people. I have a little post devoted to that particular virus of the mind at https://otrazhenie.wordpress.com/2013/08/05/the-toxic-virus-of-the-mind-us-vs-them/

Consciously spreading ideas we consider important is one way of combating mind viruses. That’s one of the key purposes of my blog. I hope that by spreading positive memes and counteracting the negative viruses of the mind we all can make this world a better place for everyone.

If you want to learn a bit more about memes, check out a brief introduction to memes at https://otrazhenie.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/cultural-memes-in-modern-times/

beautiful indeed…and it’s the most intelligent of young minds who believe they need to fill up their hole with “bad things” when all they’re given from those they love the most is “unrequited” love.

haha. anyway. i clearly agree wholeheartedly. thanks for sharing 🙂

A beautiful and touching post! We are born a blank page and what we write is our choice. Parents and mentors have an important role.
