The best thing a father and a mother can do for their children

“The best thing a father can do for his children is
to love their mother;
The best thing a mother can do for her children is
to love their father.”

  1. I like this but the best thing in my family was for my parents to split up.

      The same happened to my parents. If they would not split up, honestly, they would kill each other. There was not much love in the family I grew up with. It did affect me and my brother pretty badly though – it took us years and even decades to heal all the wounds inflicted by growing up in such a dysfunctional environment. Looking back, I truely believe that it would have been the best thing for me and my brother if our parents got their relationship sorted and treated each other with love and respect. I don’t think they realised how much harm they were doing to their children by constantly fighting with each other. 😦

        True statement & realistic conclusion…

        @” I don’t think they realised how much harm they were doing to their children by constantly fighting with each other. 😦 ” – certainly not, unfortunately… There’s a French saying:”parents drink(get drunk) and their kids toast!” – which means that kids always bear the consequences of their parents’ choices, behaviour, attitudes, decisions… 😦

        same here, dear O: my late parents split up after 20 years, but the 10 years under the same roof, they’d become complete strangers… so, we have “this” in common, too, with one exception: I’ve been the only child…

        any human relationship that is not based upon: love-affection, trust, and mutual respect will never last, like all one-way relations: they drive into a “cul-de-sac”=dead-end…

        friendly hugs…<3

        Sorry to hear about your family. It is hard to grow in such environment. Totally agree with you – mutual respect and trust is the key to any human relationship.

    A amazing and common sense logic in the quote. A strong family based on love show their children. Love is good and fair.

    when parents show love, appreciation , and respect for each other, it certainty creates a great impact on the children.
