I like that wise statement, but sooo hard to put it into real life… especially nowadays! I’m just realistic, not pessimistic: I see our world the way it is – present tense, not the way it should be – conditional tense… 🙂

In my experience, the world always starts looking much better when I stop watching news on TV and read newspapers. 🙂

🙂 I do believe you and you’re sooo right… but then again: we live in a society, not on a deserted island, like Robinson Crusoe and Friday… 🙂

Funnily enough, once I stop paying too much attention to all the negativity in newspapers and on TV, I get more time to enjoy the smiles of my neighbours, collegues, friends and other people around me. There are plenty of nasty stuff around, but there are even more good things happening in the world. Unfortunately, often we stop noticing the ocean of kindness behind the sea of ugliness.

Thanks for posting this. Kindness does exist. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture for it to be worth doing.
Sometimes just smiling and polite can make the world a better place for someone.

Thank you for this post – its a beautiful reminder that not all is a sea of ugliness…

Thank you for this. Even though this is what Soul Gatherings is all about, even I need to be reminded of our humanity from another source. I am grateful!

Thanks for your comment, Theresa. I think we all need to be reminded and re-reminded that regularly. I’m so lucky to be following your blog for a regular dose of such ‘reminders’ 🙂

  5. I think the moment we accept that we can make a difference, then it’s harder to lose faith in humanity. The key is to believe that you are essentially a good human being – with flaws no doubt, but still good – and that way you live your life trying to do good. As a result your environment becomes better. As a result, less scope to lose faith in humanity.

    Just my thoughts…

    Cheers,
    J.
